Find out how Jon uses curiosity to grow his business on the Find Your Passion Career podcast!
On the podcast Jon shares how he stumbled into his career at first. He struggled throughout high school both socially and emotionally, and wasn’t sure what his next steps would be. It wasn’t until Jon found entrepreneurship that he knew he had found his calling.
“That early opportunity to learn about entrepreneurship was kind of like a saving thing for me,” said Jon.
While Jon didn’t take the traditional route to college, he didn’t let that stop his education. “I had to create my own learning path,” said Jon. In fact he even talked his way into an MBA program!
Jon leaned on his curiosity to create FLI, which invites people to ask questions and think outside of the box. When it comes to success, he encourages groups to focus on the big picture rather than what’s wrong or broken.
At FLI, Jon and his team design questions such as “why are we here?” and “when have we been at our best?” The organization gathers employees of all levels to answer these questions together and ultimately discover new solutions.
Showing up Generous
On the podcast, Jon explains that why it’s important to show up generous in life. He sees this as a strategy that allows us to better connect with others.
“Whatever we want more of in life, we have to give that,” said Jon.
How can you show up generous in your own life? Instead of wondering how someone can help us, what are some ways we can help them. Simply consider asking the next person you meet with, “how can I help support your goals?” Imagine how great it feels to be asked this very question. Or simply, can we be better listeners to the people we meet, our friends and our family?
After listening to my conversation with Jon, start flexing your curiosity. Take time this week to get curious about our world, curious about others and curious about yourself. As always, be sure to write it down. I can’t wait to hear what you uncover.
